Elaine Carlson is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, the union of professional actors, voice-over talent, and broadcasters. Her voice-over clients have included Sears, McDonald's, Bristol Myers, Moore Business Forms, Golden Books, and others. As a stage actress, she has performed with many theater companies including: Promethean Theater Ensemble, City Lit, Eclipse, Victory Gardens, American Blues, Famous Door, Stage Left, Apple Tree, Bailiwick Rep, and Absolute Theatre. From 2005–2013 she worked with the Chicago production company, Nuns4Fun, appearing in their popular local and touring productions of one-woman, improvisational comedies: Put the Nuns in Charge, Saints & Sinners, and Sunday School Cinema.
Elaine's voice may be familiar to talk radio fans through her frequent guest-appearance as the movie-reviewing nun on The Jerry Agar Show (WLS-AM). She's been honored with three Joseph Jefferson awards: as both an actress in a leading role and also as an ensemble member in Famous Door's Salt of the Earth; and again as an ensemble member in Pegasus Players' Noises Off. Her performance as Eleanor of Aquitaine in the 2016 Chicago production of The Lion in Winter earned her another Jeff Nomination. In addition to performing, she's worked in advertising and education as a layout artist, copywriter, and editor. Elaine graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Speech, Communications and Theater Arts.
